2017 World of Insects Calendar Available Now
Annapolis, MD; December 8, 2016—Attention holiday shoppers, insect enthusiasts, and photography lovers alike: The ESA 2017 World of Insects wall calendar is available for purchase. The product of a yearly competition organized by the Entomological Society of America, the World of Insects calendar showcases the stunning beauty of our six-legged peers through striking, world-class photography.
More than 450 photos were submitted by 105 insect photographers from around the globe, and winners were selected by a judging committee of ESA-member entomologists.
The 2017 cover photo captures two insect species that co-exist in a classic example of a symbiotic relationship—the winter ant (Prenolepis impairs) and two-marked treehopper (Enchenopa binotata)—taken by F. William Ravlin of Okemos, Michigan.
