Presidential Committees may be appointed as needed by the President to serve during his or her term. For example, such committees may study a particular topic or develop a recommended course of action. Some presidential committees are ongoing, while others are active for one to a few years.

Science Policy Capability Committee (active)
This committee works closely with the Governing Board and ESA's advocacy firm in Washington DC to set the Society's public policy agenda. The committee includes a representative from each Section, a Governing Board liaison, and the ESA Executive Director. (Roster via ESA's Committee Directory; available to ESA members only)
Presidential Committee on Fellows (ongoing)
This Committee is charged with reviewing the ESA Fellow nomination requirements, and making a motion (or motions) to the Governing Board to reflect recommendations regarding Fellows' eligibility.
Insect Calendar Committee (ongoing)
This Committee is charged with determining the most appropriate process for the selection of images for future ESA insect calendars.
Linnaean Games Committee (ongoing)
This Committee is charged with planning and running the Linnaean Games at the ESA Annual Meeting each year, with consistent rules and procedures and fair and interesting questions.
Resolutions Committee (ongoing)
This Committee collects and evaluates resolutions submitted by members of the Society during the ESA Annual Meeting. The president may appoint three committee members with one serving as chair. The chair may present the resolutions for vote by the membership during the closing session/final business meeting. Presidential Committee on YouTube Your Entomology (ongoing)
This Committee is charged with evaluating the submitted videos to the "YouTube Your Entomology Contest" in an impartial manner, determinnig rules and procedures each year, and selecting the award nominees.
