Student Competition for the President's Prize

Each year during the ESA Annual Meeting, students are offered the opportunity to present their research and win valuable prizes. There are four components to the competition - ten-minute oral presentations, posters, virtual posters, and new in 2017 three-minute Lightning Bug Talks.

When submitting presentations to the Student Competition, students become eligible to compete for prizes, including: 

  • First Place - One-year free membership in ESA, a $75 cash prize, and a certificate
  • Second Place - One-year free membership in ESA and a certificate

Note: Students are eligible for the competition for 12 months after the month of graduation, with current ESA student or student transition membership.

Submissions for papers, posters, and Lighning Bug Talks will open April 15. The deadline to submit your presentation is Monday, May 15, 2017. Submissions for virtual posters will open May 1, 2017.
