Letter of Invitation from the International Branch President

To Our Esteemed International Branch Members,

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. The 7th International Branch Virtual Symposium is scheduled for April 8-10 of 2024, and we cordially invite you to join us in this virtual gathering. The event aims to unite entomologists from around the world, providing a platform to showcase their research, connect with peers, and cultivate fresh collaborations. Notably, this Virtual Symposium offers a cost-effective avenue for undergraduate and graduate students to present their work at an international conference, all from the comfort of their own offices or homes.

Over the course of three days, the Symposium will host a rich array of pre-recorded oral and poster presentations, all revolving around three overarching themes of significant relevance to our IB members:

1. New technologies and their use in entomology

2. Social insects

3. Urban entomology

In addition to these specialized tracks, we have also allocated a general session for research on insects and their relatives that may not neatly fit into the predefined categories.

We are now open for submissions, and the deadline for applications is February 15, 2024. Don't miss this opportunity to participate – submit your work today! The submission fee for oral presentations is $50, while poster presentations incur a fee of $30.

General Session: We will continue to have the 10-minute oral presentations in the general session for any research related to insects and their relatives that doesn't align with the specified themes.

Keep a watchful eye on our website for regular updates and crucial information regarding this thrilling event. If you have any inquiries or require further assistance, please feel free to reach out to me.

I eagerly anticipate the chance to connect with many of you online this coming April.

Warmest Regards,
