Instructor Profile

Lana Koepke Johnson graduated from Midland Lutheran College (Fremont, NE) with degrees in Biology and Natural Science, and received a Master's degree from UNL in Museum Studies with a concentration in Scientific Illustration. She also studied scientific illustration at the University of Arizona.

Lana's professional background includes experience in teaching, scientific illustration, web design, and medical research.  She has taught college level science courses and worked in medical research as well as worked as an illustrator and a freelance artist. Currently she works for the University of Nebraska in Lincoln as a Web project manager and teaches a graduate Scientific Illustration course and Presentation Methods course for the Entomology Department.

She is a professional member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI) (http://www.gnsi.org/) and currently serves as president of the GNSI Great Plains Chapter. She has presented and taught many seminars and classes at the yearly GNSI meetings.
