About: The Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI), Bangalore, is organizing a Firefly Taxonomy Workshop that aims to provide an opportunity for students who have completed or are pursuing degrees in ntomology, agricultural, forestry, wildlife, and zoology to learn about the taxonomy of fireflies. The workshop is a hybrid event that welcomes both in-person and remote participants (online) worldwide. The online mode is free of cost, and the participants can attend the theory and practical sessions (with their own firefly specimens) of the workshop online through Zoom. The in-person mode will be held in Bangalore, India. The workshop will cover various aspects of Lampyridae (specially for Luciolinae) taxonomy, including morphology, classification, identification, systematics, and conservation. The participants will have the opportunity to interact with renowned experts in the field and gain hands-on experience in firefly taxonomy.
