Travel Awards
Each year the Entomological Society of America offers a variety of travel awards to support students to attend the Annual Meeting. These awards provide students with financial support, accommodations, free registration and more. Award prizes and deadlines vary per award. All travel awards are listed here, along with a brief description of the eligibility for each award. For full details on each award, visit the award page directly.
Deadline - January 15th Annually - The applicant must be enrolled as a graduate student at least half-time and in graduate school at the time of (or have completed the degree within the last 12 months preceding) the presentation of the Award.
Travel awards provide funding for student fieldwork, research travel to other institutions to enhance research projects, and/or travel to the upcoming ESA Annual Meeting. Successful proposals from graduate students will be funded through support from the SysEB Section.
These awards support research in these areas with emphasis on non-taxonomic studies. Such studies could include natural history, morphology, behavior, conservation, paleobiology, biochemistry, physiology, and related areas.
Deadline - April 1st - To apply for a PHEFA Travel Grant, you must be a faculty member at an MSI and provide us with contact information regarding you and the students who will accompany you. The students may be undergraduate or graduate students.
This award encourages MUVE student members to attend the annual meeting to promote interest in entomology and help connect new attendees to current members.
Deadline - June 1 Annually
The applicant must be a current ESA student member who is earning a degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) and studying specifically at least one insect in the field of entomology, or performing entomology-related research in a field such as biology agricultural science, forestry, evolution, ecology, or environmental sciences.

Deadline - June 1st Annually - All graduate students are welcome to apply and identify how their candidacy for the travel award will help to fulfill PBT’s goals of supporting individuals who have been historically underrepresented in STEM.
Deadline - June 1st Annually - Nominees must be an ESA student member affiliated with the P-IE Section at the time the award is received.
Deadline - December 13 Annually - The nominee must be a student member of ESA. The student must be pursuing or has recently completed a graduate degree with emphasis in entomology (must have graduated within one year prior to the award deadline).
Deadline - June 1st Annually - Candidates must be enrolled as an undergraduate student (not necessarily in an entomology departments) at the time of nomination.

Deadline - December 13th Annually - The student must be pursuing a Ph.D. degree with a major in entomology or not have graduated more than one year prior to presentation of the award.
