Society of Southwestern Entomologists
The Southwestern Entomological Society (NOT to be confused with the Southwestern Branch of the Entomological Society of America!) was founded in 1976. The purpose of the society is to publish a refereed journal, the Southwestern Entomologist. This is a regional publication covering entomological research of relevance to Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Mexico. Members meet annually in conjunction with the Southwestern Branch of the Entomological Society of America (ESA). In 2003, the society changed its name to the SOCIETY OF SOUTHWESTERN ENTOMOLOGISTS due, in part, to long-standing confusion between this and the Southwestern Branch of ESA. We hope this change will encourage more entomologists to join the society. See the membership brochure or the $20/year membership application to join the society at http://sswe.tamu.edu/
