Screening Committee for ESA Awards, ESA Eastern Branch

The Screening Committee is responsible for obtaining and selecting the best qualified nominees for CIBA-GEIGY Recognition Award in entomology, the Sandoz Award for Excellence in Pest Management (formerly the J. E. Bussart Memorial Award), the ESA Recognition Award in Urban Entomology, and the Distinguished Achievement Awards for Teaching, Extension, and Regulatory Entomology.

1. The President will have appointed his/her Chairs for the Local Arrangements and Program Committees well in advance (preferably prior to the mid-winter meeting) so they can work with the current Chairs.

2. The President will have solicited names of prospective Committee Chairs from current Chairs. All committee Chairs should be appointed by the time of the Annual Meeting of his/her predecessor or shortly thereafter. Appoint Ad hoc Committee Chairs as necessary.

Student Paper Competition (Ad hoc), ESA Eastern Branch

1. Students and judges must satisfy criteria stated on application form.

2. The Program Committee will be instructed to place all student papers scheduled for competition in a group during an appropriate submitted paper session.

3. Three judges will judge each session.

4. Judges will be identified on judging sheets by number. A master copy of judge/number combinations will be kept confidential by the chairperson of the Ad hoc Committee on Student Paper Competition. Judges may sign and address the forms if desired.
