Awards & Honors
Each year the Entomological Society of America and the Entomological Society of America Certification Corporation provide annual honors and awards to recognize scientists, educators, and students, who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to entomology.

The nominee must be an ESA student member, who: 1) Is pursuing course work leading to a graduate degree with a focus in entomology 2) Is an ESA member (student or regular) prior to January 1 of the year in which the award is to be presented 3) Shows evidence of an excellent academic record.

The applicant must be a current ESA student member who is earning a degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) and studying specifically at least one insect in the field of entomology, or performing entomology-related research in a field such as biology agricultural science, forestry, evolution, ecology, or environmental sciences.

The purpose of this award is to encourage, recognize, and reward outstanding contributions to the ESA Certification Program and the professionalism of entomology. The award consists of a $500 cash prize and an inscribed plaque. The plaque is presented to the awardee at the ESA Annual Meeting.
Start a Distinguished Service Award to the Certification Program Nomination
Sponsored by PestWest Environmental Science, this award is presented annually to recognize and encourage outstanding entomology graduate students with interest in the mission of the ESA certification program, and to promote the understanding and importance of the program.
The purpose of the award is to recognize superior contributions of an ACE in the field of structural pest management.
