Awards & Honors

Each year the Entomological Society of America and the Entomological Society of America Certification Corporation provide annual honors and awards to recognize scientists, educators, and students, who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to entomology.

Section Award
This award recognizes entomologists who are making significant contributions to agriculture.
Section Award
This award recognizes and encourages innovative research in the areas of insect physiology, biochemistry, and toxicology in the broad sense.
Section Award
This MUVE Award recognizes and encourages outstanding research, teaching, outreach/extension and service contributions in the fields of medical, urban, and veterinary entomology.
Section Award
This award acknowledges significant and outstanding work in the fields of insect systematics, morphology, or evolution. "Insect" is defined here to include insect allies.
Section Award
This award is provided to a doctoral student who is currently conducting research which demonstrates innovative and realistic approaches to urban entomology.
Section Award
Travel awards provide funding for student fieldwork, research travel to other institutions to enhance research projects, and/or travel to the upcoming ESA Annual Meeting. Successful proposals from graduate students will be funded through support from the SysEB Section.

The SysEB Student Research Endowment is a permanent ESA endowment that provides research-enhancement awards for graduate and undergraduate students who are members in good standing of the Systematics, Evolution, and Biodiversity (SysEB) Section of the Entomological Society of America (ESA).

Presented by P-IE and Corteva Agriscience™, the Integrated Pest Management Team Award recognizes the successful efforts of a collaborative team approach to pest control.

This award recognizes innovative research by a graduate student in entomology or plant breeding/genetics.
Section Award

The P-IE Lifetime Achievement in Entomology Award, formerly known as P-IE Legends of Entomology Award, recognizes the career of an entomologist who has greatly contributed to the advancement or promotion of entomology, and has been an inspiration to others. The award, consisting of an inscribed plaque, is presented at the Monday afternoon P-IE Networking Session during the ESA Annual Meeting. Recipients are expected to attend the session to receive the award.

Deadline - June 1st Annually - Nominees must be an ESA student member affiliated with the P-IE Section at the time the award is received.
