Awards & Honors
Each year the Entomological Society of America and the Entomological Society of America Certification Corporation provide annual honors and awards to recognize scientists, educators, and students, who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to entomology.

The nominee must be a current ESA Student Transition or Early Professional (ECP) member. Eligible members can apply the year following their terminal degree (B.S., M.S. or PhD.) or within five years of degree completion. The nominee must be an ESA student member, who: 1) Is pursuing course work leading to a graduate degree with a focus in entomology 2) Is an ESA member (student or regular) prior to January 1 of the year in which the award is to be presented 3) Shows evidence of an excellent academic record.
Only final-year master's students or first-year Ph.D. students are eligible. Applicants' research should address an applied entomological question.
All students using arthropods to study any aspect of basic or applied physiology, biochemistry, or molecular biology in the broadest sense for their Master's or doctoral research are eligible to apply. Students from all science departments are encouraged to apply.
The applicant must be a current ESA student member who is earning a degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) and studying specifically at least one insect in the field of entomology, or performing entomology-related research in a field such as biology agricultural science, forestry, evolution, ecology, or environmental sciences.
