Nine Entomologists Named 2026 Fellows of the Entomological Society of America

Annapolis, MD; August 5, 2026—Nine scientists have been selected as new Fellows of the Entomological Society of America for their outstanding contributions to the field of entomology. Election as a Fellow of ESA acknowledges achievements in insect science via research, teaching, extension, administration, military service, or public engagement and science policy.

Brian Nault Chosen as Entomology 2026 ESA Founders' Memorial Lecturer

Annapolis, MD; June 23, 2026—Brian Nault, Ph.D., professor of entomology at Cornell University, has been selected to deliver the Founders' Memorial Award Lecture at Entomology 2026 on November 11 in Columbus, Ohio. Nault's lecture will honor his father, Lowell R. "Skip" Nault, Ph.D. (1940–2024), a pioneer in research on the ecology, evolution, and transmission biology of insect and mite vectors during his 36-year career at The Ohio State University.

Kelley Tilmon Selected to Deliver 2025 ESA Founders' Memorial Lecture

Annapolis, MD; June 11, 2025—Kelley J. Tilmon, Ph.D., professor of entomology at The Ohio State University, has been selected to deliver the Founders' Memorial Award Lecture at Entomology 2025, the Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of America. Tilmon's lecture will enlighten attendees on the life and career of Maud Doria Haviland (1889-1941), a groundbreaking British female entomologist and ornithologist.
