Poster Power: How to Create an Engaging and Effective Research Poster
Poster Display Size
Each poster must be contained within the 46 x 46 inch (117 cm x 117 cm) space provided. Two posters will be displayed on each side of a single board (four posters per board). The poster must not exceed the size limit. Please be considerate of the person with whom you are sharing a display space. If your poster exceeds the size limits, ESA reserves the right to remove or fold your poster to accommodate space for others.
Poster Display Setup Information
Your poster display must be placed in the assigned numbered space in the Exhibit Hall on the morning your poster is scheduled (see "Poster Display Presentation Times" for additional information). Bring your own Velcro strips or push pins to secure your display to the poster board. The poster board is covered with felt cloth and the frame is aluminum. Please do not attach anything to the metal frame.
Posters should be removed promptly between 5-5:30 p.m. on Monday and 9-9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Please do not remove your poster before the close of the scheduled viewing time. Do not remove poster numbers from boards. Any posters left in the hall will be disposed of after the Exhibit Hall closes on Wednesday.
Poster Display Presentation Times
Because the Exhibit Hall becomes quite congested during presentation hours, presenters of posters with odd and even numbers are assigned specific times to be present at their posters. Presenters are expected to be available at their displays during the "Authors Present" time slot for questions and discussion.
Monday, November 9 (Student Competition Poster Displays)
Setup: Monday, 8-9 a.m.
Viewing: Monday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Authors Present: Posters with odd numbers: 1-1:30 p.m.; Posters with even numbers: 1:30-2 p.m.
Takedown: Monday, 5-5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, November 10 (Contributed & Student Non-Competition Posters)
Setup: Tuesday, 8-9 a.m.
Viewing: Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Authors Present: Posters with odd numbers: 1-1:30 p.m.; Posters with even numbers: 1:30-2 p.m.
Takedown: Wednesday, 9-9:30 a.m.

Be clear with attendees about whether you grant permission for your presentation slides to be photographed or shared on social media.
New for 2026: Attendees must obtain written or verbal consent from all participants before recording or using artificial intelligence tools to transcribe any meeting, conversation, or presentation.
