Call for Southeastern Branch Archive Materials

The Southeastern Branch of the Entomological Society of America is currently looking to expand its archive collection. Housed and permanently maintained in the North Carolina State University Libraries' Special Collections at Raleigh, the collection contains annual meeting programs, photos of award winners and speakers, historical documents, and other items of interest to the Branch. Please support our efforts to gather archive materials.

Members can view a description of the SEB Archives and its current contents by visiting http://catalog.lib.ncsu.edu/record/NCSU2227737 and following the appropriate links.

Branch leadership is looking for materials containing information relating to the history of the Branch, Linnaean Games team members, awards, and other similar types of documents and data, especially if maintained by former officers or committee members. Obtaining such material for the archives will insure its availability for posterity.

Of special interest are photos relating to Branch activities, including its annual meetings, council and committee activities, award winners, members in action and the like. The current photo records in the archives are not extensive and photos from inception to today would be greatly appreciated. Photos are of the most value if they include, at a minimum, a date and activity or location. Old photo prints may be submitted as prints or digitized. Original print photos, if no longer needed by members, can be added to the archives as originals.

Any current or former members of the Southeastern Branch with potential archive materials are encouraged to contact Branch Archivist, Jim Harper, for information on how to submit materials for the archives.
