Incoming P-IE Section Vice President-Elect
Dr. Jeff Bradshaw is an Associate Professor of Entomology and Extension Specialist for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He received a B. S. in Zoology from Southern Illinois University in 2001, an M. S. in Zoology from Southern Illinois University, and a Ph.D. in Entomology and Plant Pathology from Iowa State University in 2007. Jeff was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Illinois from 2008-2009. His research interests concern insect ecology, host plant resistance, and IPM. He has authored 40 peer-reviewed research publications and several Extension products. As an active ESA member since 1998, Jeff has served on several ESA regional, national, and international committees – ESA-NCB: 2012 Program Committee, ESA-ICE: Student, Young Professionals, and Women Committee, ESA: Monsanto Award Committee, Special Presidential Committee on Membership, Student, Transition, and Early Professional Committee, Calendar Committee, YouTube Your Entomology Awards Committee, Special Committee on New Section Governing Councils, Presidential Special Committee on Linnaean Games, Student Affairs Committee, Common Names Committee. Finally, Jeff will complete 3 years of service to ESA-NCB as Secretary-Treasurer this year. Jeff has had a strong interest in entomology from a young age and as such is a passionate supporter of the ESA.
If elected to the leadership of the Plant-Insect Ecosystems Section as an Officer, I will use my prior experience in ESA committee service and leadership to work with the Section Governing Council to help expand ESA’s influence as a source of science literacy in our broader society.
