Incoming MUVE Representative to the American Entomologist Editorial Board
Dr. Marc Fisher received his Ph.D. in Entomology from Virginia Tech in 2006, after studying the diversity of the gut flora in the gut of the termite, Reticulitermes flavipes. He has been a member of ESA since 2000 and has lived in, been a member of, and served in the Pacific, Eastern, Southwestern, and North Central branches. Over the years Dr. Fisher has served in multiple ESA capacities. He is currently the Chair of the American Entomologist Editorial Board and has served as a member of the ESA Education and Youth Committee, the Section F Program Committee, the Chair of the ESA Student Affairs Committee, on the MUVE Nomination Committee, and on the 2006 ESA Advisory Restructuring Committee. Marc enjoys serving each year as a Student Competition Judge and Moderator. Dr. Fisher is currently the Global Technology Transfer Leader for Dow AgroSciences and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Entomology at Virginia Tech. His research interests include termite biology and gut microbiota and bed bug biology and management. He has authored/co-authored 28 articles in peer-reviewed/non-peer reviewed publications and is a co-author on 12 patents. Dr. Fisher looks forward to serving MUVE and sharing his passion for entomological excellence and leadership.
