Thank you for your interest in the Entomological Society of America’s publications. ESA publishes several journals with different publication formats and costs, as shown in the table below. There is no charge to publish Letters to the Editor, Editorials, and Student Debates.
There are page charges for some ESA publications. Page charges may be discounted or waived depending on the author’s geographic location. ESA Members without financial support for publication may apply for a page charge waiver for one article annually. This waiver does not cover the fees to print images in color nor fees for open access. Learn more about ESA Membership.
Oxford University Press has a growing number of Read and Publish agreements with institutions and consortia that provide funding for open access publishing. This means authors from participating institutions can publish open access, and the institution may pay the charge. Find out if your institution is participating.
Oxford University Press automatically waives article processing charges (APCs) in fully open access journals for eligible authors as part of its developing countries waiver policy. ESA’s fully open access journals are: Journal of Insect Science, Arthropod Management Tests, and Journal of Integrated Pest Management. 4To publish images in grayscale in print and in color online, please include both color and grayscale images with your submission files. Please make sure your images are legible in grayscale and that image captions do not point to colored arrows, markers, or descriptors.
